A memory, a moment in time, encased in art. This is one of the things I love about collage as a visual art form. The encasement of objects and marks, textures and colors, things that belong together with things that don't, sparks my creativity and my curiosity.
Encased is an original mixed media artwork on watercolor paper. The composition combines painting, sketching, stitching, and the placement of gathered ephemera. Framed and matted, it measures 13 x 13"; the artwork is 5x7". The frame is silver and ready to hang.
